The mini is intended for the PS/2 mouse, the standard, for the keyboard. This is what works and what my owner's manual says. I've never tried it the other way. I'm not aware of any production PS/2-interface mouse that was sold with a standard DIN-5 connector--maybe a bus mouse, but not a PS/2-interface one.
No, I have not been able to install USBmap because the keyboard refuses to work, I am still on the Setup stage, therefore I cannot create my root account (obviously) because my keyboard won't work. (BTW this keyboard is an internal keyboard i.e this keyboard is not connected via USB. It is rather connected via the laptops internal ps2 port).
PS/2 keyboard is not working (not even able to use the "Del" key or "F8" to enter BIOS or Safe Mode). PS/2 mouse works fine, USB keyboard and USB mouse also work fine.
I'm typing this on a 30+ years old Model F AT keyboard on Big Sur with OC 0.6.6 on H97M-D3H, can confirm PS/2 keyboard indeed does work without problems.

At this point only the PS/2 keyboard and mouse were connected, which were not working. Used the power switch to shut down the computer. With only the PS/2 keyboard and mouse connected, pressed the power switch to start the computer and, at the first sign of the Windows 8.1 logo appearing on the monitor, turned off the computer with the power

As far as I know, you just run the PCSX2 until you got to the main menu, then in the menu bar choose Config > Gamepad Settings, it should automatically pick your keyboard up as Gamepad.0 (Player One). IMHO the default layout is pretty logical, though you can of course rebind everything by clicking on the button name
There are also no pullup/pulldown resistors connected to the PS2 port, as well as the ESP32. Here is the link to the library I am using: GitHub - fdivitto/FabGL: ESP32 Display Controller (VGA, PAL/NTSC Color Composite, SSD1306, ST7789, ILI9341), PS/2 Mouse and Keyboard Controller, Graphics Library, Sound Engine, Game Engine and ANSI/VT Terminal.
Go to your settings to make sure it's turned off. Turn off Windows keyboard shortcuts. To clear out the keyboard shortcut settings, open the Windows Control Panel and go to Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center > Make the keyboard easier to use. Make sure all the toggle switches are off, then apply the changes and restart your computer.
